Cookie Policy

The Accountability Register AU uses cookies to operate the website, to understand how readers use the register, and to remember display preferences. This page describes each category of cookie in detail and explains how to opt out of the non essential categories via your browser settings.

Essential cookies. Strictly necessary for the site to function. They maintain your session while you browse, remember whether you have seen our cookie notice, and secure the site against automated abuse. Essential cookies do not carry advertising identifiers and cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

Analytics cookies. We use Plausible Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled. These cookies aggregate page view data so that we can see which register entries and info pages readers reach and where reading friction appears. Aggregate data cannot identify an individual reader. You can opt out via browser settings without any loss of reading functionality.

Preference cookies. These remember choices you have made on the site, such as text size, colour scheme or dismissed banners. They exist for your convenience and can be cleared without loss of critical functionality.

Third party cookies. We do not run third party advertising networks that set behavioural profiling cookies. Any contextual advertising that appears beside our content is served without personal identifiers and does not carry cross site tracking.

How to disable cookies. Every major browser lets you view, manage and delete cookies via its settings menu. Refer to your browser's documentation for specific instructions. Disabling analytics cookies has no effect on your ability to read the register.

Do Not Track. Our analytics provider respects the Do Not Track browser signal. Where a visitor's browser transmits Do Not Track, analytics are not recorded for that visit.

Questions or complaints about our cookie practices can be sent to [email protected]. We commit to a written response within thirty days.
