The Canadians for Accountability blog is mainly a media update service, intended to provide summaries and links to coverage of whistleblowing, accountability and related issues. Information is usually recent and Canadian. As whistleblowing is of international interest, however, this is not a rule.
Media updates will be published every Monday and Thursday, excluding holidays and vacation periods. The updates are not exhaustive. Stories repeated across media outlets are generally linked to only once. In addition, if you find something of interest and relevance, please forward it to us.
There will also be commentary posts on specific subjects. These will usually be posted on Saturday.
Ian Bron is the official blogger of Canadians for Accountability. Besides making comment on this blog, Ian is an evaluation and regulatory specialist working in the federal government. He spent a number of years as a naval officer, following which he was an elementary school teacher. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Royal Military College of Canada and a Bachelor and Masters degree in Education from the University of Ottawa. He is also a professional teacher (OCT). He is a whistleblower who reported serious mismanagement, unethical conduct and harassment at Transport Canada.
Politically speaking, Ian is non-partisan – despite what you may think from reading his posts. He hates hypocrisy and wishes more people would learn to be like the villagers in The Seven Samurai.
